Fun outings
Throughout the year NASCI organizes several low-threshold outings - a trip to a Brussels park, to the sea or to a theater, for example. At such moments, parents put aside their worries and connect in a positive way with their child, with each other and with the people of NASCI. Dads are also welcome on the outings.
Moms Club meeting afternoons
During this weekly meeting afternoon, mothers can put aside their worries for a while and interact with each other. During this relaxing moment, we break the daily grind.
Mediconsult
NASCI's nurse and midwife provide moms with accessible primary medical and psychological care, as well as support before, during and after pregnancy, teaching them what is important for their baby's health and referring them to mainstream health care in Brussels.
Social information and referrals
Our social information point offers accessible, clear and understandable information and refers where necessary. Together with the family, we look for a nursery or school for the child, for example, or look for a course for the parent to learn a language or get an education.
Material assistance
A baby requires stuff. To single moms, dads and families in need, NASCI distributes birth kits, children's clothing kits, basic care products, small baby equipment, diapers, follow-on milk and school supplies.
Parenting support
We give monthly formations for all mothers around parenting, health, self-development, and general and administrative tasks.
At Mama's Power Up to 15 mothers also follow a training program in which we plan activities and workshops to inform, sensitize and motivate them. In this way, we strengthen their self-confidence and self-image and teach them to carry the future of their family on their own. Our group work is aimed at mothers only.
